# Prompt library

> Choose which version of Bigly's built-in AI prompts your account follows, or fork a prompt to customise it.

Besides your own voice prompt, the AI agent relies on a set of built-in prompts that Bigly writes and maintains, for example the instructions it uses to work out the date and time of a meeting or callback from a conversation. The **Prompt Library** tab lets you see those prompts, choose which version your account uses, and make your own copy of one if you need different wording.

## Before you start

- This tab appears only when the prompt library is enabled for your account.
- Your role needs permission to change AI settings. See [Team members](https://docs.biglysales.com/manual/team-members.md).

## Versions: Stable and Latest

Bigly publishes new versions of each built-in prompt over time. Each prompt has two versions you can follow:

- **Stable:** the version marked as stable by Bigly. Accounts follow this one by default.
- **Latest:** the version marked as latest. New improvements usually appear here first.

Your account follows the version you choose until you change it. When Bigly updates that version, you get the update automatically.

## Choose a version

1. Go to **AI › Prompt Library**.
2. Find the prompt. The card shows its name, version number, type and a preview of the **Prompt Body**.
3. Under **Select Version**, click **Stable** or **Latest**.
4. Click **Confirm** in the message *Are you sure you want to select the … Version?* The selected pill turns green and you'll see *Version updated.*

Changing the version can change how the agent behaves. Place a [test call](https://docs.biglysales.com/manual/test-calls.md) afterwards.

## Fork a prompt to customise it

Forking gives your account a private copy of a prompt that you can edit.

1. On the prompt's card, click **View Details**.
2. Click **Fork Prompt**.
3. Edit the **Prompt Body**.
4. Click **Save Fork**, or **Cancel** to discard your edits.

The card now shows a **Forked** badge and the note *Using your forked version*.

> **Forks don't get updates:** While a prompt is forked, your account uses your copy exactly as written. Bigly's later improvements to that prompt don't reach you until you remove the fork.

## Edit or remove a fork

1. Click **View Details** on the forked prompt.
2. To change your copy, click **Edit Prompt**, make your changes and click **Save Fork**.
3. To go back to Bigly's version, click **Remove Fork**. Your account follows the version tag it used before.

## Common questions

**Is this the same as my voice prompt?** No. Your main conversation script is on the [Voice prompt](https://docs.biglysales.com/manual/voice-prompt.md) tab. The library holds Bigly's supporting prompts.

**The tab says "No prompts have been published yet."** Bigly hasn't published any library prompts for your account yet. Nothing needs to be done.

**I broke something in my fork.** Click **Remove Fork** to return to Bigly's version, then fork again if you still need changes.
