Setting up your first day followup with your AI assistant

Reading the current first-day steps, building a call then text then call sequence with delays, linking an intro, reviewing the preview and confirming.

The first day followup is the sequence that starts the moment a new lead is added. It's an ordered list of steps (a call, a text, a picture message) and each step waits a set number of minutes or hours before it runs. A typical setup calls right away, texts after 5 minutes if there's no answer, and calls again an hour later.

It's the sequence on AI › First day followup config in the app. Your assistant can read it and replace it with a new one.

This is different from the followup sequence, the daily and weekly routine that keeps going over the following days.

Ask your AI assistant

Show me our first day followup. Set our first day followup to: call right away, text after 5 minutes, call again after 1 hour. Change the text in step 2 to: Hi {name}, sorry we missed you. When's a good time to talk? Use the Solar intro for our first day followup.

Before you start

  • Connect your AI assistant to Bigly.
  • You need permission to read the first day followup to see it, and permission to update it to change it. Account owners and admins have both by default.
  • Steps only run inside your working hours, and only while follow-ups are switched on. See Followup sequence.

What the assistant reads

  • Every step in order, with its type, delay, and any message text or images.
  • The intro the sequence uses, if one is linked.

Change the sequence

  1. Describe the full sequence you want, or the change to make.
  2. The assistant shows a preview with the number of steps in the new sequence and the intro it will use. Ask it to list the steps if you want to read them again.
  3. Confirm in the chat.
Every change replaces the whole sequence

The assistant always sends the complete list of steps, and that list replaces the old one. To change one step, ask the assistant to keep the others exactly as they are.

Settings explained

Each step has:

FieldWhat it meansAccepted values
TypeWhat the step does. Shown as Call, SMS and MMS in the app.Call, message (text) or MMS
DelayHow long to wait before this step runs.A whole number, 0 or more
Delay unitMinutes or hours.Minute or hour
OrderThe step's position. If you don't give one, the order of your list is used.0 or more
Message textThe text to send, for texts and MMS. Leave it empty and the AI writes the message.Text
ImagesFor MMS: the links to the images.A list of links

The sequence also has one intro setting (shown as Select Intro). It picks which intro the first-day calls use.

  • Name an intro to link it.
  • Ask to clear it to remove the link.
  • Say nothing about the intro and the current one stays.

Limits and rules

  • The delay unit can only be minutes or hours. For a step on the next day, use hours, such as 24.
  • The intro must be one of your own intros.
  • An option on AI › Configure, Execute first followup node immediately, can make the first step run without waiting for its delay. Check it in the app if your first step runs earlier than you expect.

What you can't change here

  • Rule-based sequences. If your account can send different leads to different first-day sequences based on their details, those sequences and their rules are built in the app. The assistant only edits your default sequence. See First day followup in the app.
  • Who gets enrolled. A lead enters the first day followup when it's added. See Importing contacts and Lead webhooks.
  • Results. First-day follow-up statistics are in the app. See Lead statistics.
