Ringless voicemail
Drop a pre-recorded voicemail into your contacts' voicemail boxes without their phones ringing, as a campaign or after an unanswered AI call.
What ringless voicemail is, recording and uploading a good message, creating a voicemail campaign, choosing the audience, sending or scheduling, tracking results, and setting up a voicemail drop after unanswered AI calls.
Ringless voicemail (RVM) leaves a recorded message in a contact's voicemail box without ringing their phone. The contact sees a new voicemail and can listen when it suits them, then call you back.
You can use it in two ways:
- Voicemail campaigns: send one recording to a group of contacts, like an SMS campaign.
- No-answer voicemails: when your AI agent calls a lead who doesn't answer, Bigly can leave a recorded voicemail automatically.
The Voicemails page with the title Choose from Voicemail Gallery or Customize a New Campaign, the Create New Voicemail Campaign card, and several voicemail campaign cards with status, ID, contact count and date.
Before you start
- Ringless voicemail must be turned on for your account. If you don't see Voicemails in the top navigation, contact support.
- Record your message as a WAV, MP3 or OGG file. Keep it short; the upload screen shows the maximum length allowed.
- Have at least one phone number. Your numbers are used as the caller ID, so people who call back reach you.
- Make sure you have permission to contact the people you send to. See Compliance overview.
Send a voicemail campaign
- Go to Voicemails in the top navigation.
- Click the Create New Voicemail Campaign card.
- On Upload Your Voicemail, click Upload Your Recording (or drag the file in) and choose your audio file. Bigly checks the format and length, then shows the file name and duration.
- Click Next.
- Choose your audience with Select Tags and the State, City, Title and Company filters, then select the contacts.
- To avoid sending twice, tick Ignore contacts you already sent a voicemail for and enter a number of hours.
- Click Send, or click Schedule, pick a date and time, and click Schedule again.
You can also start a voicemail campaign from the campaign type screen by choosing Ringless Voicemail.
The Upload Your Voicemail step with the Voicemail Recording upload box, the accepted formats and maximum length, an uploaded file showing its name and duration, and the Back and Next buttons.
Say who you are and why you're calling in the first few seconds, give one clear next step, and repeat your callback number. Speak slowly. A recording that sounds personal gets more callbacks than one that sounds like an ad.
Track results
- Click a campaign card on the Voicemails page to see the contacts in it.
- Go to Statistics › RVM for delivery numbers over time. See RVM statistics.
- In the Inbox, set the filter to Voicemail to see the drops on each contact's history.
Delivery is handled by a voicemail provider and results arrive in the background, so numbers can take a while to update after you send.
Stop a campaign
Pause, cancel or delete the campaign from Scheduled blasts. Deleting a voicemail campaign also stops drops that haven't gone out yet.
Leave a voicemail after an unanswered AI call
- Go to AI › Teach Your Bot › Intros and open the outbound intro you use for calling.
- In No-Answer Voicemail Recording URL, upload your recording or paste a link to it.
- Save the intro.
When an AI call with that intro rings but isn't answered, Bigly leaves the recording in the lead's voicemail. To avoid repeating the message, each contact gets this voicemail at most once in a set period (seven days unless your account is set differently). Contacts marked Do Not Call or Do Not Text are skipped. See Intros.
Troubleshooting
Ringless voicemail is not enabled for this account. Contact support to turn it on.
My recording won't upload. Check it's a WAV, MP3 or OGG file and within the maximum length. Files converted from other formats sometimes fail; export it again from your recording app.
No contacts matched this audience, so nothing was sent. Your filters don't match anyone. Remove a filter and try again.
